Mother's Day

So I have to start off by saying that I honestly am trying to be better about posting more often...So yes it has been two weeks since my last post, sorry!
Since this last Sunday was Mother's Day and I'm not officially a full fledged mother, but Brock wanted to celebrate it anyway. It actually started on Saturday, when I woke up to a soft knock on the front door.. Brock had gone on a run so I frantically got out of bed, rummaged around for my glasses and got to the front door. I peered out our front window to see that it was a little Boy Scout. I was relieved I thought it was the movers with our stuff (long story, I'll explain later). I opened the door wondering what the little boy was selling door to door at this hour in the morning, but to my surprise he was holding a vase full of red roses and said "Happy Mother's Day!"
I was completely surprised! I knew that they had to be from Brock, Virginia is a nice place but people just randomly dropping off flowers didn't seem likely. When Brock got back from his run I told him that a cute little boy had dropped of some roses for me...and as I told the story Brock had the biggest smile in the world creep up onto his face. It turns out that the Boy Scouts in our ward delivering flowers for Mother's Day as a fundraiser, it was an all win situation: Boy Scouts raised money, Brock supported the Boy Scouts and made his wife extremely  happy and I got roses :) It was a very good morning!

Then on Sunday there were several more treats awaiting me! The first one might seem silly; however it is important to understand that in the approximately 15 months that Brock and I have been married we have only sat together in church about 5 times. So my first treat of the day was getting to sit next to Brock through Sacrament meeting and Sunday School. Relief Society was an event to remember, the Bishopric had put together a brunch for the sisters in the gym, following a short lesson we had a beautiful assortment of muffins, cookies, fruit, vegetables and finger sandwiches to eat. It was a great event!
That afternoon Brock and I made time for a nap on our patio swing since it was such a beautiful day! It is such wonderful weather; I've been warned that August and September are horribly hot and humid so I need to enjoy the weather while I can.
For dinner Brock and I had been invited over by a couple in the ward, which turned out to be a huge blessing! As I have said before we've been having some difficulties with our moving company. It's been 27 days since all of our belongings were packed into a moving truck that was headed toward Virginia, thus our apartment has our few suit cases full of clothes and such, and air mattress and a small coffee table from Brock's place in Alexandria. It's been a complete headache as we were told that our things would be in Virginia within 7-21 days and we can never get a hold of anyone that works at the company. So with limited supplies our dinners haven't been as elegant as I'd like to make them, when we got to the Jensen's home Brock and I were so excited to have a table with chairs at it to eat at and the meal was delicious! After dinner we were just talking with the Jensen's when our horrible moving story came out, immediately Mrs. Jensen showed us their spare bedroom in the basement and offered to let us stay. It has been a real blessing since Brock had to travel out of town this week! It is amazing how other people can truly answer prayers!
